What is EFT

EFT is based on a discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is an emotional version of acupuncture except needles aren't necessary. Instead, well-established energy meridian points are stimulated on the body by tapping on them with the fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so it can be done anywhere.

"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system." Gary Craig, the Founder of EFT

Tapping on these acupressure points corrects the disruption in the energy system and hence will defuse the unpleasant emotional reactions of feelings of anger, fear, etc. Tapping also helps the person explore the issue bewildering them. Although there may not be a solution that will bring peace on earth tomorrow, each of us can learn to come to terms with what we see as major threats and decide what we are capable of doing to bring about a solution using EFT.

Physiologically, as we tap on a variety of acupressure points, the serotonin in the brain rises. Serotonin is a brain chemical, a neurotransmitter that calms us. When we are in a state of fear and tap, the part of the brain that creates alarm when it perceives threat is flooded with serotonin. The fear loop is disconnected, and we feel more at peace. As panic recedes, the thinking part of the brain is able to evaluate the problem from a new point of view and make new decisions. This can happen in a matter of minutes.
